Katrinia Barnes is very passionate about breast cancer awareness.  She lost her aunt, Helen Porter-Brown, to breast cancer in October 2004.  This experience motivated her to become involved with raising awareness about breast cancer and wanting to participate in the Breast Cancer 3-Day.  Katrinia met Kelly Charles-Collins, the Founder and CEO of The Pink Ribbon Runway, Inc, in August 2005.  She discovered that they had much in common. They both had thoughts of participating in the Atlanta Breast Cancer 3-Day and registered for the event in January 2006.  Katrinia listened to Kelly’s vision of The Pink Ribbon Runway, Inc while training and participating in the three day walk.  She knew that she wanted to be a part of the non-profit organization before completing the event.

A native of Pensacola, Florida, Katrinia received her Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of West Florida.  Katrinia is a Software Analyst employed at one of the world’s largest providers of outsourcing solutions.  She is also an assistant wedding planner for K Nicole® and a certified Primary Group Fitness Instructor through the Aerobic and Fitness Association of America.  Katrinia teaches step aerobics and cycle classes.  She is the wife of Victor Barnes and the mother of Christopher Hardaway, Alexis Barnes, and Jarrell Barnes. Katrinia is the daughter of Ruth and Ronnie Porter.
